My First Ipsy Subscription

As a new mom, going out to grab a few things like small makeup pieces can be a bit of a hassle. Get the little one dressed, diaper bag ready, nursing schedule together, and loaded in the car. Oh and don't forget about myself...lol Just to go get a eyeliner, or concealer etc. No way! I cannot do it. One of my goals this year is to be more adventurous with certain skincare products and become a little more informed etc...with makeup, moisturizers, under eye creams and the like. So, here we go....

I decided to subscribe to Ipsy. $10 for a month for 5 beauty products a month including a super adorable cosmetic bag included. I think I can foot this bill each month. So I'll be trying most of the items this week. Will post addition reviews. Below is what I received. I am too excited! I'll probably put on the mask tonight.

1. Touch In Sol
Style Sepia Gel-Liner in Jardin
2. Elizabeth Mott
 Shimmer Eyeshadow Single in Goldy
3. Answer From
 Black Volume Gold Radiance Cream
4. Pureheals
Centella Green Tea Mask
5. SLMissglam
 N15 Eyeshadow Brush

You can download the app on your phone just as I did and you can rate, review, and learn about the beauty products received each month.

Mothers Day at Myrtle Beach, SC

Top 5 Places to Eat in Myrtle Beach, SC

So every year a group of women in my family takes an annual Mothers Day Trip with our mothers, usually to Myrtle Beach, SC and this year was no different. The only difference was I was not pregnant and I didn't have to pray and believe I could get off of work. My husband came along to watch our 6 month old and I was able to hang with my sisters, aunts, and cousins. In our stay we were able to try out some pretty cool restaurants, where the service was great and the food did not disappoint. It is a mix of tourist spots as well as non tourist locations. Top Five are in no particular order.

1. Bay Naturals Healthy Market & Kitchen
7611 North Kings Hwy Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

So we ate breakfast here almost every morning we were on vacation. So its a health food market with a kitchen in the back. It was super cute, with a modern home feel to it with a gorgeous patio to the left covered in greenery. The first morning, I was out to get some groceries for the room, snacks and things and stumbled across this gem. Grabbed some organic coffee for the hubby and I, veggie omelet with Ezekiel Bread, and BLT Avocado Toast. Yum! We were hooked and went back every day, for more coffee, smoothies, and vegan/vegetarian organic delights.

2. Mr. Fish
6401 North Kings Highway Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

After we got situated and settled in and freshen up, we discovered Mr Fish. We had a taste for sushi and seafood. From the country down home hush puppies and fresh ceviche and calamari to start off, we were excited for our entrees. We tried two specialty rolls. Thanks to Yelp and its current reviews we were well pleased with our first night selection for dinner. In addition when we checked in with Yelp we received a free dessert. Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream!!

3. RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar
1210 N. Ocean Blvd Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

So this was on the opposite end of the beach, the more live end. So the plan was to take the mothers there. The Rooftop Bar is on the 3rd floor, and the actual restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor you have a DJ playing tunes all night long as you over look the scenery. The 2nd floor you are hearing the sounds of live music on the side that looks out to the beach. The crab cake and wings were pretty good and I had the fish tacos, a bit spicy but overall tasty.
My husband and I did go back the next night after dinner to hang out upstairs at the bar and that was a little more my scene. They close at 2am.

4. Eggs Up Grill
1289 38th Ave. N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Great Brunch Spot for the locals, non-tourist location in my opinion. The food was simple yet delicious, the staff was friendly and service was fast. Straight and to the point. Definitely will be visiting anytime I return.

5. Carolina Roadhouse
4617 N. Kings Hwy Myrtle Beach, SC

My husband took me here for my Mothers Day Dinner. I absolutely loved everything from start to finish. They were crowded but not that we had to wait long, the wait was maybe 10-15 minutes. So the highlight here was what we ordered. The Seafood and Combination Platter-A roadhouse mound of seafood fried to perfection. Freshly Battered & Fried to Order with French Fries and Homemade Hushpuppies. Served with a House Salad and we added a Soft-shell Crab. Lets just say we could not finish it all. Simply delicious.

Next time your visiting Myrtle Beach, SC stop by one of these locations and tell them we sent you.

First Family Trip as a Trio!

Our First Family Road Trip Together as a Trio!

When was the first time you traveled with your infant child?! Well as a new mom, mine was at 5 months and I couldn't have been more stressed and excited at the same time. So much planning is involved to ensure you have everything for any given situation. Sticky notes and to do list were my best friend. We traveled two hours south to Alabama, it was a pretty hot day but we had a ton of fun. I was able to keep my son on his schedule and have activity time in the car. He did well both coming and going. If EBF (Exclusively breast feeding), you do have to add more time on your trip for the occasional stops to nurse if need be.

Car Activity Time Ideas for 0-6 months:
-Toys, toys and more toys (preferably smaller ones)
-A toy that hooks onto the top of the car seat and hangs for him or her to reach. We use the one made by Baby Einstein in the picture below but any car seat hanging toy will do.
-Reading books is another activity that was fun and kept the little ones attention.

Looking forward to the next road trip!
